Institute for Creative Music

An IfCM community collaboration with John Calvin Presbyterian Church, Rochester, NY. The IfCM conducts workshops in settings including churches, libraries and other community centers.

Nick leads the students of the Harley School through Thelonious Monk’s “Misterioso” as part of an IfCM workshop.

Nick Finzer conducts a big band reading session at the Eastman Community Music School of his original compositions. The group included current high school, undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students, as well as community members, and included sharing of ideas about ensemble playing, sight reading, musical awareness, and the professional music world.IfCM Reading Session Blog Post
