The Spring ‘24 Denton Jazz Workshops features middle and high school aged students from all over North Texas. This program will jazz standards, blues, funk, and experimental music and will feature everyone in the band as improvisors. All of the music is learned and performed by ear so you can expect a lot of interaction, deep listening, and fun for all. For students currently taking lessons. Parents are welcome to drop the kids off and come back. This will be a fun opportunity for the students to play 1-2 pieces they've been working on in their lessons for their peers, sing and play some familiar songs as a group, and have a jam session together. Everyone is encouraged (but not required) to come share and make music together.

March 23rd, 10-11am at the Emily Fowler Central Library, “Denton Jazz Workshops Family Jam.” Bring the kids to sing, move, and play with a live jazz band featuring middle and high school age musicians and the professionals of the IfCM Collective. This program will feature lots of interactive songs that children already know along with performances of jazz tunes that are sure to become new favorites.
