Summer '24

In addition to our Denton Jazz Workshops camp we’re presenting two camps at the Selwyn School in Argyle, TX:

Denton Summer Camp

Jazz doesn’t take the summers off! To build on the fun and hard work of our school year workshops (as well as get new folks involved) the IfCM will host our summer session over the course of 4 weeks in July and August. Under the co-direction of Chris Teal and Grace Frarey students meet twice a week for two hours each session to learn and understand new songs, improvisation skills, and work on ensemble playing concepts. This summer we’re getting deep into working on our audiation skills and developing confidence and autonomy. Students will be invited to perform with the IfCM Collective after the first week of class on July 13th at Emily Fowler Central Library and the class will culminate with a recording session to document the songs/arrangements learned.
